directors in the act

Last week we had to watch some  presentations that we had been asked to make
in the previous week, the presentations were on on film directors, what they like,
what people like about there films and just general bio on the director
The director that me and my group made the presentation on Wes Anderson

Wes Anderson-
This is the Director that my group did our presentation on
Wes Anderson was Born in Texas
He has directed films such as Fantastic Mr Fox and The Royal Tenebaums
Wes loves to use parallel lines within his work
He also likes to have his friends in his films like Owen Wilson.
He featured in the American Express advert, which was aimed at the more wealthy
people because having a credit card is quite a big deal.

Synola -
The name comes after shoe polish.
Created music videos for example Coldplay strawberry swing.
Synola we put animals into his videos.
He has also made music videos for Radiohead and Queens of the stone ages.
Synola's work is mostly animated.

Hammers and Tongs-
This is two directors working together Gareth Jennings and Nick Goldsmith.
Also Hammer and Tongs have made music videos.
They have made them for bands such as Vampire Weekend and Radiohead.
They like to use a lot of colour in his work, so will be aimed at the younger generation.
As well as directing these music videos they made a couple of films
Including Son of Rambo and Hitchhikers Guide to Galaxy.

Michael Gondry -
He was born in France, 1973
He joined a band in France called wee-wee but failed, so started to direct films
Has produced music videos for Paul McCartney and also Kanye West
His film that he made Science Of Sleep was never released because it was
highly criticised for being too strange.

Spike Jonze -
40 year old from America
2 oscar nominations
He has some crazy and big ideas
He is probably best known for the series and film Jackass
which is about a bunch of lads who terrorise each other and do stupid stuff
most girls are probably discussed by this but lads love it.
Made advert for Ikea, he tries to make the furniture affordable.
